Good news, everyone!

Pandemic may not be over, even for the vaccinated, and we will continue taking prudent measures in our gathering.  Please join us in person as you feel able. Our service will be streamed in real time on Facebook Live. Read all the details in Fr John’s invitation.

Reasonably, the Episcopal church supports vaccination:  Delta variant of COVID-19 continues to spread at alarming rates both here at home and around the world. Because of the nature of vaccines and herd immunity, it is critical churches also help address vaccine hesitancy.

Jim and Patricia Wann have published the May edition of Voice in the Wilderness, our parish newsletter. Fr John is astounded at the love of God for the outrageous diversity of creation. Brian Boom and Lucy Eldridge emphasize how our Capital Campaign reflects our concern for our beautiful environs. Elen Freeston of the Alter Guild asks all gardeners to grow flowers to decorate the church. Elen the Senior Warden proposes to continue Zoom meetings to maintain contact with our diaspora.

Ecumenical PatriarchPope and Archbishop of Canterbury call for the Protection of Creation. “September is celebrated by many Christians as the Season of Creation, an opportunity to pray and care for God’s creation.”  Read the news with Anglican News Service.

Get Vaccinated!! Don’t let down your guard!  Covid infections persist and we must all avoid trading air. Masks, distance, limiting assembly — the better we all follow pandemic protocols, the sooner they will be unnecessary. Columbia County wants everyone vaccinated. Here is where to go.

After 13 years, Charley Musselman is retiring as St John webmaster. We have hired Suzanne Trevellyan to build a modern website for us. She will work with Jay Corcoran  and Fr John. They need a few editors and correspondents. Please respond.

We support the Roe Jan Food Pantry. Drop off canned or boxed food in the basket inside the door of the church.

Brian Boom and Lucy Eldridge of our Capital Campaign Committee have put together a compelling brochure, Capital Campaign for St John in the Wilderness: Sustaining People, Place, and Peace, 2019-2022. Please take a look and decide how you might contribute to the future vitality of our church. Supporting material.
