Since the last issue of this newsletter, there has been much progress in the Capital Campaign on multiple fronts. In this update, we will report on three Capital Campaign projects that have been completed or substantially advanced with funds raised and the Campaign’s plans for the upcoming weeks. Dr. Kent. T. Kay, DVM, passed away at 89 from complications of dementia in Minnetonka, MN. He grew up in New York City but dreamed of living in the country and purchased a veterinary practice in Millerton, NY, serving the surrounding dairy farms in 1965. His wife Marilyn was the office manager for the practice and they raised four sons, who grew up in a lively household surrounded by animals, both large and small. For one of the Harvest Fest auction items I offered to lead a hike. Louise Peterson won the hike. I made several suggestions and Louise and Dale decided they would like to hike the Keystone Arch Bridge Trail in Chester, MA. It is a beautiful trail along the West Branch of the Westfield River. Spanning the river over the course of 2.5 miles are 5 keystone arch bridges built in the 1830s without mortar or reinforcing.
